If You People Are So Worried About Rome Being OP Then Do Something About It Put Some Effort Into Your Gaming So You Can Make A Strategy That Totally Owns Rome.
I Play Rome All The Time And Most Of The Time My Games Arent That Great
People Just Dont Even Try It Seems
I Know It Might Be Because They Are New To The Game But Even The High Rated People Are Doing Bad.
Its Disappointing When You Have 2 1300s Join Your Game And When You Get Into The Game And Attack Them And They're Persia While Your Rome And You Still Outnumber Them.
IMO Its Not That Rome Is OP Its That People Wont Do Something About Rome Being So Strong
The Reason Rome Was Made So Strong Was So They Wouldnt Have The Taxation Bonus And Swords Cost 40 Gold
Their Is A Reason Their Swords Cost 80 Gold
And That Is The Reason They Have The Best Economy So They Wont Be Outnumbered So Easily.

I only use the mass swordsmen strategy when I'm playing as Rome. I find that you need to use a combination of units when you play as other civs. The mass swordsmen strategy just doesn't work with the other civs.

Roman, you have one strat. You play as Rome and you mass swordsmen. It doesn't take skill at all, since youve did it about 100 times and i tried it once and i still had more inf then you. Rome is WAY overpowering and something needs to be done about the infantry, like make them weak against SOMETHING that you can get early in the game.

Bball,I Have 2 Strats For Rome
1 For Counter Rushes and 1 For Early Economy
I Also Play Persia
If You Want a Weakness For Rome Then Try Outnumbering Them With Greece,Egypt or Persia.
It Seems So Simple Eh
Or Kill The Rome's Economy

I've found Rome's swords to be dreadful against trained Greeks or Alexander's explosive arrows. Not sure about other civs but there must be some easy way.

Yeah...Rome's just OP. That doesn't mean they're invincible, but they're pretty damn close to it. The only civ that has a real fighting chance against the Romans are the greeks, especially if they've had time to train up they're troops and they have Senator. But even then, it's an uphill battle.
